Programs of Applied Mathematics (Undergraduate)

Amirkabir University of Technology, faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, with nearly 30 years of experience in education and research in the field of mathematics, has reviewed the undergraduate program in mathematics and applications in line with the achievement of strategic educational plan of Amirkabir University of Technology and citing the procedure of "reforming the structure and programs of undergraduate education”.  This field provides the basis for exploring in areas related to industry and application, by presenting a good understanding of basic mathematics and its industrial applications, and analyzing the problem solving methods with the help of mathematical tools. Also, it can be a common language for all industrial areas. In addition, this field presents appropriate scientific and research services to mathematics lovers in conducting basic research.

Goals and capabilities:
 
The undergraduate objectives of Mathematics and applications are as follows:
1-            Training forces for conducting research in the basic fields of mathematics.
2-            Strengthening mathematical support to build a bridge between mathematics and other engineering sciences.
3-            Creating expertise to model the natural world phenomena in mathematical language.
4-            Identifying and nurturing mathematical talents.
5-            Designing and analyzing computer algorithms in solving mathematical models.
 
This field will create the following abilities in order to strengthen the student scientific strength,
throughout the country.
1-            Ability to solve mathematical problems
2-            Ability to utilize pure mathematical concepts
3-            Ability to analyze mathematical problems
4-            Ability to model industrial problems
5-            Ability to build algorithms and applied codes
6-            Ability to establish a communication bridge with industry
